Taiwan News: The Result of the 2nd SBS Tender for Rice Imports

Today, COA has completed the 2nd SBS tender for 12,000 MT of CSQ (Country Specific Quota). SBS means selling and buying at the same time. In the 12,000 MT, there will be 5,500 MT of U.S. origin rice, 4,000 MT of Thailand origin rice, and 2,500 MT of Egyptian origin rice. All the cargo shall be shipped before next April.

P.S. all the quantity is on brown rice basis, which means that the actual import quantity will be less than 12,000 MT since most of Taiwan traders imports milled rice instead of brown rice.
