Variety
In Taiwan, there are several major varieties of rice as below
1. Japonica round grain white rice, which is close to Japanese short grain rice.
2. Japonica round grain fragrant rice, which is short grain rice with fragrants like Thai Hom Mali (Jasmine).
3. Indica long grain white rice. Comparing to Japonica, the production is not much.
4. Round grain glutinous rice.
5. Long grain glutinous rice.
