According to local media news in Taiwan, a Japanese rice exporter faces trouble while selling his rice to Taiwan restaurants since the buyers are worry about the threats of radiation pollution.
After 311 earthquake, most of rice buyers in Taiwan, who are used to purchase Japanese rice, cancel their deals with their Japanese suppliers because they are concerned about the pollution by the radiation from Fukushima power plant. Recently, a Japanese rice farmer tried hard to promote his rice to his old Taiwanese customers. But his crop from Niigata, a place located in central Japan, was rejected until he accepted a 5% discount on the sale price.
